What is infrared light therapy?
Red and near-infrared light therapy, also called photobiomodulation therapy or PBMT, works by delivering specific wavelengths of light directly into the body's tissues. Unlike visible light that stops at the skin's surface, near-infrared wavelengths penetrate several inches into the body, reaching muscles, joints, nerves, and even bone.
At the cellular level, this light is absorbed by the mitochondria, your cells' energy-producing structures, and triggers a cascade of healing responses: more ATP production, less oxidative stress, better circulation, faster tissue repair, and reduced inflammation. The research behind PBMT is substantial and growing, with thousands of peer-reviewed studies supporting its use across a wide range of conditions.
This is the same technology we use in our light therapy sessions at Integrated Hyperbarics. Renting one means you can continue daily at home, extending the benefit of your sessions here or using it entirely on its own.
What people use it for
Our infrared light rental clients use it for:
Tissue repair and wound healing
Near-infrared light speeds the body's natural repair processes, making it especially effective for post-surgical recovery, injuries, and slow-healing wounds.
Joint pain and inflammation
Red and near-infrared wavelengths reduce inflammatory markers at the cellular level. Consistent daily use produces cumulative anti-inflammatory effects that many clients describe as the most significant relief they've found.
Skin health
Red light at specific wavelengths stimulates collagen production, improves skin tone and texture, and supports the repair of damaged skin. A bonus benefit when you're using IR light for other reasons.
Nerve pain and neuropathy
Near-infrared light penetrates deeply enough to reach nerve tissue, supporting nerve regeneration and reducing the chronic pain signals that make neuropathy so hard to live with.
Brain and mood support
When applied to the head and neck, certain wavelengths of near-infrared light reach brain tissue, supporting mitochondrial function in neurons. Clients report better mood, mental clarity, and less brain fog with consistent use.
Muscle recovery
Athletes and active people use infrared light to speed recovery between training sessions, reduce delayed onset muscle soreness, and keep tissue healthy during demanding training periods.
Post-surgical healing
One of the most consistent uses in our rental program. People recovering from orthopedic surgery, dental procedures, and other procedures use daily infrared light to support faster, cleaner healing.
Chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia
The cellular energy support PBMT provides is especially relevant for conditions where mitochondrial dysfunction plays a role.
The device
The infrared lights we rent are clinical-grade devices, not the consumer panels sold online that deliver a fraction of the dose. We have evaluated and rejected many devices on the market. What we rent is what we use, and what we use is what we believe in.
Some of our lights are stronger than the sun, as measured with our IR light meters on April 5, 2025, in bright midday sun at our facility.
Covers red wavelengths for surface tissue and near-infrared wavelengths for deeper penetration. Easy to use at home, with clear instructions provided. No technical knowledge required.
Rental terms
- First month$150
- Each month after$100
- Total rent-to-own$450
All pricing is subject to change with market conditions. Current rates are confirmed at the time of your rental agreement.
A rental agreement is required. Call us to get started. We'll make sure the device and plan are right for your specific goals before anything is signed.
Is an infrared light rental right for you?
It's worth a conversation if:
- You're currently doing light therapy sessions at our facility and want daily home access between visits.
- You're recovering from surgery or injury and want to speed healing at home.
- You're managing a chronic inflammatory condition and want a daily tool whose benefits build over time.
- You're a wellness professional who wants to add light therapy to your practice without buying outright.
The honest answer is that infrared light therapy works best with consistency. Daily use produces meaningfully better results than occasional use, and a rental makes that consistency affordable before you commit to owning one.
