THE SCIENCE
How Photobiomodulation Therapy Works
Light is not just visible energy. At the right wavelengths, it is absorbed by specific molecules inside your cells and converted into biological action — the same way plants convert sunlight into fuel. PBMT applies this principle therapeutically, delivering precise wavelengths to tissues that need a biological push to repair.
The primary target of PBMT is Cytochrome C Oxidase (CCO) — a light-sensitive enzyme in the mitochondrial electron transport chain. When red and near-infrared light strikes CCO, it triggers increased production of ATP (adenosine triphosphate), the fundamental energy unit of every cell in your body. More ATP means cells have more fuel to do the repair work they are already designed to do — just faster, more completely, and in tissues that would otherwise stay energy-depleted.
The cascade that follows ATP production is significant: nitric oxide levels increase (improving circulation and vasodilation), reactive oxygen species activate repair signaling pathways, inflammatory mediators like PGE2 are suppressed (functioning similarly to aspirin and NSAIDs without the side effects), collagen synthesis accelerates, and stem cell activity — migration, differentiation, and proliferation — is meaningfully enhanced.
This is not surface-level wellness. The mechanisms are documented at the molecular, cellular, and tissue levels. IR light is being increasingly recognized not just as a therapeutic tool but as a fundamental biological need — from the melanocortical pathway to mitochondrial melatonin production, your body was designed to absorb and use this light. Our panels deliver more of it, more efficiently, than natural sunlight — without the UV exposure that makes outdoor light dangerous in large doses.

MOLECULAR

Cytochrome C
Oxidase
Activation
Photons from red and NIR light are absorbed directly by CCO, triggering increased ATP synthesis and initiating the entire downstream
repair cascade.
CELLULAR
Inflammation & Stem Cell Response
PBMT suppresses inflammatory mediators, enhances collagen expression by fibroblasts, and increases stem cell migration, differentiation, and proliferation in targeted tissue.
TISSUE
Repair Across Every System
Muscles recover faster. Neurons repair more efficiently. Skin produces more fibroblast growth factors. Hair follicles are stimulated. Fat cells release stored lipids. The effects are systemic.
OUR LIGHT SPECTRUM
Five Wavelengths. Five Distinct Mechanisms
Each wavelength of light interacts with tissue differently. We offer the full therapeutic spectrum — from deep-penetrating near-infrared to precision antibacterial blue — matching the right light to your condition and goals.
630–660
nm · Red Light · Full-Body Panels

Skin, Surface Tissue & Cellular Energy
Red light penetrates to a depth of approximately 8–10mm — ideal for skin, surface tissue, collagen production, and wound healing. It is the wavelength most associated with anti-aging, skin rejuvenation, and the visible repair of surface structures. Our full-body panels deliver this at an output that exceeds what unprotected sun exposure could safely provide.

Deep Tissue, Joints, Muscles & Nerves
Near-infrared light travels deeper than any other therapeutic wavelength — reaching muscles, joints, bones, and nerve tissue below the skin. It is the primary workhorse for musculoskeletal recovery, neuropathy, and systemic cellular energy. At this wavelength, NIR also penetrates the skull sufficiently to support brain tissue — the principle behind the Neuradiant 1070 helmet, which focuses NIR directly on specific brain regions.

Bacteria, Acne & Circadian Regulation

Blue light at 415nm has two distinct applications. On the skin, it is directly bactericidal — targeting and destroying acne-causing bacteria without chemicals, antibiotics, or side effects. Applied in the morning, it also activates melanopsin receptors in the retina that regulate circadian rhythm — making it a powerful, drug-free tool for sleep disorders and mood regulation. Delivered with our handheld device for precision targeting.

Pigmentation, Rosacea & Migraine Relief
Green light occupies a unique therapeutic niche. It is highly effective at reducing hyperpigmentation and evening skin tone without the photosensitivity risks of other wavelengths. For individuals with photosensitive migraines, green is the one wavelength that does not exacerbate symptoms — it actively soothes them. It is also one of the gentlest options for clients with rosacea and reactive skin who cannot tolerate stronger wavelengths.

OUR SETUP
A Private Room. Professional Output
Starting PBMT is as straightforward as stepping into a private room and letting the light do its work. We set the protocol, you set the intention. No UV, no heat damage, no complexity — just clinical-grade light delivered properly.

Full-Body Red & Near-Infrared Panels
Our panels output over 200mW of energy — one of the highest in the industry. This means shorter exposure times and deeper, more complete tissue saturation. These are not the consumer-grade devices sold online. The difference in output is substantial.

Handheld Blue & Green Delivery
Blue (415nm) and green (510–560nm) are delivered with a precision handheld device — allowing us to target specific areas of skin, spot-treat conditions, and apply light exactly where it's needed without full-body exposure to wavelengths that aren't indicated for your goal.

Better Than Sunlight.
By Design.
In order to absorb a therapeutic dose of red and near-infrared photons from natural sunlight, you would also be exposed to harmful UVA and UVB rays — resulting in skin damage before you ever reached the therapeutic threshold. Our panels eliminate that tradeoff entirely: all the beneficial wavelengths, none of the UV. More energy, less time, no burn.
-
Zero UV — no sunburn, no UV-related skin damage
-
200mW+ output — therapeutic dose in a fraction of the time
-
Precise wavelength control — only the light your cells need
-
Consistent dosing — no weather, no season, no cloud cover
-
Private and controlled — every session calibrated to your protocol
Photosensitivity note: If you are taking medications known to cause photosensitivity — including Digoxin, Retin-A, or Tetracycline — please let us know before your first session and consult with your prescribing physician. We can help you research the contraindications and adjust your protocol accordingly.

Private Treatment Room
Your PBMT session takes place in a dedicated private room — set up to relax and invigorate you at the same time. Bring headphones. Use the time for guided meditation, binaural beats, or quiet rest while the light works. Your clinician will set your protocol and check in throughout.

Earthing Mats in the PBMT Room
We integrate grounding mats directly into the light therapy room. While your body absorbs photonic energy from the panels, the earthing mat simultaneously discharges inflammation through direct electron transfer from the Earth. The two modalities complement each other in ways that amplify both.

PBMT Integrated with PEMF
We also integrate PEMF with IR light therapy. This combination is excellent at exercise and sports performance recovery helping to reduce inflammation and recover lost energy.

YOUR LIGHT SESSION
What to Expect in the Red Light Room
A PBMT session is one of the most low-barrier, high-return things we offer. No needles, no pressure, no recovery time. You walk in, absorb the light, and walk out — often feeling the difference immediately.
Goals & Protocol Review
Your clinician reviews your goals and any relevant conditions before your first session. This determines which wavelengths you'll use, at what distance, for how long, and whether any combination protocols (HBOT + PBMT, grounding + PBMT) are appropriate for your situation.
Panel Setup & Positioning
For red and near-infrared sessions, you stand or sit at the prescribed distance from the full-body panels in your private room. For blue or green light, the handheld device is applied to the target area. Your clinician sets the session time based on your output level, skin type, and goals — more energy means less time needed.
No goggles required for red and NIR — but we provide eye protection if preferred.
Rest, Breathe, & Absorb
Use this time intentionally. Listen to binaural beats, solfeggio frequencies, or a guided meditation through your headphones. Our clinicians can walk you through breathwork and exercises designed to drive oxygen and blood flow toward the areas being lit. Or simply stand, relax, and let the photons do their work — your cells don't need your conscious effort to respond.
Post-Session & Stacking
Most people feel energized and clear after a PBMT session. There is no recovery time — you can go directly back to work, or head to training. PBMT is one of the most stackable modalities we offer and pairs particularly well with HBOT. It also pairs well with PEMF mats to bio-hack being in the sun and on the beach at the same time.
PBMT after HBOT is a protocol we recommend for many clients — ask us which integrations will work best for you.
